I am aware that I need to change both. Changing the headlight on my 2000 BMW 740 was very easy to do and I am wishing for a similar experience. The heat of the zenon bulb burns the silver coating and causes the light to be dim. It can't be fixed but you can buy a new aftermarket projector. I think it is very difficult to install.
